Slipware
Slipware is the oldest form of English
decorated and glazed earthenware pottery going back into
history around a thousand years.

I am known as a slipware potter because it was and still
is the mainstay of my work.

Ask most people what is the classic English pottery and
they will say Wedgwood and they will be wrong. "Not
a lot of people know that!"

Slip is white or coloured clay thinned down with water until
it is liquid and then applied to an unfired clay pot by
dipping, brushing or piping on as if decorating a cake.
