Jeremy at work

Jeremy Kemp

In DVD Volume 1 - An interview with Alan Frewin - you will see how Jeremy worked with Alan to set up the Millhouse Pottery in 1970.

It was a time of incredibly hard work. The move from London to Harleston in Norfolk and the transporting of all our pottery equipment took a lot of time and effort.

As soon as all our equipment arrived, that was when the really hard work began We gutted the outbuildings of all the rotten floors, doors and windows and then made new ones that were in keeping with the originals. Then came the fitting out of the workshop and the retail shop.

These first three months were probably the hardest that I have ever known and I cannot thank Jeremy enough for all the effort that he put into the project. We both learned an enormous amount, it was a testing time for us both and it worked.

In 1972 Jeremy and his wife Uschi set up their home and pottery workshop in Germany.

He now splits his time between potting and tending to his garden which he loves. In this crazy world he has managed to create an environment that is as close to idyllic as anyone could hope for and he deserves it, he is a good man.
