In the mean time, here's what viewers have said...

"Fascinating. A unique insight into the potters craft.
I was disappointed when the DVD was finished. It leaves
you wanting more. Highly recommended".
Ivan Howlett, (UK)
"We sat mezmorized watching the DVD from start to finish
- Mohamed even paused it while he made tea, this is a man
who cannot sit through a movie, so that should tell you
something."
Lynda El-Mandouh, USA
"We have been visiting Mr. Frewin's business since
1968. He is a true artisan. For anyone who has an interest
in how pottery is produced or wants to develop their talent
I would recommend his video series."
Mr & Mrs Donald Bowker, USA
I had no interest in pottery until I saw Alan's videos.
I watched Volume One (nearly two hours long) straight through
and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Alan's amazing videos
are a joy to simply watch and relax."
Graham Hammond, UK
"I have watched the video several times now and it
brings to mind an important precept that should apply to
all teachers/masters of their art and craft; a precept that
you have fulfilled and should be very proud of: "teachers
empower students by turning the key on knowledge, they enable
others to take things forward to a new and, hopefully higher
level, by showing them that they, the student, do not have
to invent the wheel twice if they pay attention and master
the Masters skills and use his or her knowledge to take
them forward".
Christopher Soule (potter),
UK
"Fascinating to watch. they are an
excellent record of your work.".
Barbara Philpot, UK
"The filming of the different sequences
showing varying aspects of your work was very clear and
concise, and described the various stages in a way which
could be easily understood even by someone without the slightest
knowledge of the craft. The descriptions were put over in
an interesting and amusing manner, and it was obvious from
the commentary that you really love your work , and have
made considerable study of the works of some famous artists.

Many thanks again, the video has been a joy to watch, and
a brilliant insight into your work".
Gill Wilkinson, UK
"We have both watched the video and
found it interesting, well presented and at the right pace.
Neither of us are potters but we didn't find the technical
side of the video too involved".
K. and M. Hinchcliffe, UK
"A thoroughly valuable set of informative
DVD's on studio pottery techniques, made out in simple terms
they are full of instruction and methods of working, a lifetime
of work visually available condensed into a few hours".
Robin Wallace (ceramics designer),
UK
"Alan Frewin of Millhouse Pottery,
has recently released a series of 6 DVDs dealing with all
aspects of his working life as a Master potter, using the
traditional methods of making pots, i.e.hand thrown once
fired, slip decorated earthenware.
When one thinks of slipware, the great Thomas Toft, the
17th century slipware maker from Staffordshire springs to
mind, I suggest that future generations, inspired by the
visual record we now have of Alan's work,
will be equally inspired by the name and work of Alan Frewin
of Millhouse Pottery.
Alan Frewin however, is not only a slipware potter, his
beautiful hand painted tiles and pots are inspirational.
Alan has been most generous in allowing us into his world
of creativity, opening to us the methods of his unique way
of working. These DVDs, several years in the making, should
inspire the professional, amateur and collector alike, they
deserve to go down as a record of a master craftsman at
work for future generations."
Russell Smith, UK
"Tony and I have watched the first
2 DVD's and really liked them:
1. Informative
2. The pace is right
3. Not too much talking; enough explanation and the shots
are good and steady.
4. Personal and humerous, but would be of interest to those
seriously interested in pottery/slipware."
Jane and Tony Churley, (UK)
"What an insight into one man's work.
Both informative and very entertaining. We thought we would
watch the first five minutes - and stayed to the end. A
potter extraordinaire".
Vyvyan Elliot, (UK)
"The 'Painting on a Clay Panel' film
is fantastic. For someone who hasn't been inside a pottery
studio since her school days many years ago, I found all
the intricate processes and neat little tricks fascinating.
Not only does Alan show you the process from start to finish,
but he also explains his inspirations for the pieces and
lessons that he has learnt along the way.
The film is a must-watch for all budding potters for its
clearly explained practical tips and its introduction of
new brilliantly effective techniques.
The video was particularly special to me as the clay panel
being made is now hanging on our living room wall!
